About Jeff Laurence, LMT
I’m a Kansas boy. Born and raised. Been a New Yorker now for 30 years, as of January of this year.
I suppose my destiny to become a massage therapist was revealed to me on a number of occasions, starting at about the age of 8 or 9.
When I was a boy, my step father taught me how to do foot massage, as well as head and neck massage. He had been in a bad accident at work, which seriously injured his foot, and experienced a lot of pain through out his life. I think he also suffered from migraines. This is how my “career” began in healthcare.
21 years ago, I went back to school to become a massage therapist. I had studied Sports Medicine in college, and this somehow, seemed like a natural loop back for me.
I’m a “dinosaur” in my field. Haven’t met too many people who have been doing massage longer than myself. The blessing is that I liked my work, when I began my career. Today, I love it.
Understanding that people come to me for healing is a task I take to heart. I often think what a privilege it is to have the opportunity to help someone improve their own quality of life.
Who knows? Maybe I will see you on my treatment table soon!
