About Dr. Haroun Arefi
Dr. Haroun Arefi was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in San Diego, California where he graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. He then earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic and another Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology at University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.
Before pursuing his Doctorate, Dr. Haroun competed internationally as a member of the Afghanistan National Basketball Team and chiropractic care is what helped him recover from injury and feel good on the court. Dr. Haroun’s life experiences and calm demeanor enables him to provide a comfortable environment to people from various backgrounds. He is fluent in English and Farsi (Dari) as well as sufficient in Spanish. He provides comprehensive care with compassion to our practice members. He believes treating through a holistic lens while educating practice members about their musculoskeletal ailments and the steps it takes to heal is vital.
Along with excellent chiropractic care, he promotes the importance of preventative and maintenance care with simple lifestyle changes, therapeutic exercise and nutritional supplementation. Dr. Haroun uses various effective methods to treat our practice members including Diversified Chiropractic Spinal Adjustments, Flexion-Distraction, Neuromuscular Re-education, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, manual therapy, and also enjoys keeping up with advancements in the field.
