About Emma Gidley
Emma received her Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) from New York University. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. She continues to be amazed by the human connection of mind and body, always finding ways to challenge the connection. Motivated by the thought of empowering others, Emma believes in Occupational Therapy and its ability to adapt, modify and enhance the human experience. Emma finds solace in fine motor movements, and postural control recognizing the power of small movements, gains and impacts.
Emma obtained her Water Safety Instructor certification in 2010 and since then has spent hundreds of hours in the pool and ocean teaching anything from swimming and surfing to water aerobics and offering modifications to people with varying diagnosis, ages and abilities. Through her vast experience in the Occupational Therapy Field from Hand Therapy to Nursing Home Rehabilitation and Home Health care, Emma excels in the art of working smarter, not harder. Inspired by her patients and the people around her, she is dedicated to helping others achieve their goals, in ways they may not have thought of on their own.
When not treating patients, Emma enjoys all things salt water. She's motivated by her next surf trip, sail, float, paddle or open water swim. A true extrovert, She enjoys meeting new people, spending time with her family and friends and biking around NYC seeing where the day takes her.
